One of the most seen paintings from the 19th century are the daily life sights from random streets in European cities. The mass crowd is always part of the environment, this is what makes them so unique in their style.
My last try was a year ago (Morning glow) and it was really hard to catch the right mood. I switched to large scale environments, these have a different approach. This artwork is a new try to find the right looks and I used many new techniques I learned in the past year. One of the key changes is light colors, it’s a more natural look than my previous works.
I also introduced a sort of mass crowd, very risky, but I felt it was the right way of scene improvements. Most the materials are a mix of multiple textures. The buildings are new designs, this allows me to improve the quality.
I used some heap stones from the Rock essentials to fill the corners, it's a small detail, but worth to mention. https://www.blenderguru.com/product/rock-essentials/
