The Hague

I always wanted to create a large scale traditional dutch landscape including windmills. I starded six months ago on this scene, but because of huge struggle with light and colors i started to work on other scenes.

I worked on a lots of new building designs and combined this with some existing structures in the background.

It felt a little weird to put almost 90% of all the modeling work in the far background, however, for this type of landscapes you need to do that.

I only used some color compositing, no camera effects, just wanted to have it as rough as possible.
Normally i model ‘most’of all my assets, however, this time i was asked to use some rocks from the ‘Rock essentials pack, created by the Blenderguru team. I must say it was a pleasure to work with, i never used photo scanned rocks. more info on www.blenderguru.com

For the people for like to know the city name, it’s ‘The Hague’ anno 1800
